ROCK PRÉSERV' : ROCK IN COUNTRYSIDE
The Galibos (young persons in dialect) from the
society Galib’art of BROÛT-VERNET are still amazed: their one-day
concert show, built up in 1992 in the local town hall has grown to be,
presently, the most important music festival in open air in Auvergne!
Moved since 1994 in a huge field, lent by a private
person, in the middle of the countryside, Rock Préserv' (the name evokes
the struggle against the AIDS, for which part of the profits are
remitted)
imposed itself in the local musical world.
Besides the top national
groups, smaller arisen from local competitions organized by Galib’art
during the year have also their chances during the festival. Installed
under an open circus tent, its characteristic is an electric programming
mixing all forms of rock music. This Must in summertime mobilizes more
than hundred voluntaries, accommodates also stands with traditional
products and information for youths and artistic performances (minstrels
and others…).
